Cake Balls (Cake Pops without the Stick!)

[rank_math_breadcrumb]

This was my first attempt at cake ‘pops’. I had no sticks as the concept was very new to me (and I think everyone else who wasn’t up on the latest trends in the cake world at the time!).

The inspiration came to me after reading my Cake Pops: Tips, Tricks, and Recipes for More Than 40 Irresistible Mini Treats by Bakerella. I have a review on this book.

I started out with a packet mix of an apple tea cake which had a beautiful cinnamon sugar topping on it and just used a block of cooking white chocolate with a tiny bit of my ‘Creative’ brand blue coloring in it. They were a bit fiddly especially since there was no stick to hold onto them with, but turned out great! I used 2 metal spoons to roll them in the chocolate and then sprinkled some little decorations on top…

My friend visited me later that day and was blown away by the taste… so yum!!
